A heartwarming story shared by Coach Tracey Rewerts:  The Exshaw girl’s team arrived at the Gr. 7 Volleyball tournament with only three players. Our Banff girls stepped in and played as teammates so Exshaw could stay in the tournament. Our girls were excited to help out. Exshaw won their first game! By afternoon, the Exshaw team gained one more player so they had four team members and could compete on their own accord without our girls. Exshaw went on to win the entire tournament with only 4 players. The best part is our girls were so excited for Exshaw! Helping the Exshaw team was more gratifying than if the girls had they won the tournament. We at BES are so proud of them!  Photo courtesy of Mr. Vallee Professional Development Day Friday, November 2, 2018 12:01 pm dismissal for Gr. 1 to 8 No Kindergarten Classes Scare Hunger Away This October for Halloween, Banff Elementary School is going to SCARE HUNGER AWAY. There was great spirit in our gym! The cross-country running team participated in zones in Okotoks and were excellent representatives for our community.  The third photo is our hard-working staff learning more about formative assessment strategies on Friday, October 5th. Professional Development Day Friday, October 19th, 2018 12:01 pm dismissal for Gr. 1 to 8 No Kindergarten Classes Hot Lunch Volunteers Needed Hot lunch has been in full swing since late September, but our volunteer numbers are short this year - this program cannot run without volunteers. First off the team truly appreciates all the returning hot lunch servers and we are happy to see some new faces! We all have work, volunteer and family commitments, but we are still actively looking for servers to make the service run smoothly. If you can even help with one service during this first session it would be greatly appreciated. You do not have to commit to multiple days! I am also still looking for a couple parents to help pick up the Nesters donation for Thursdays. If you can't help with food service, but you have time to pick up the donation either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning and prep the fruit or veg (an hour at the most of your time) it will help us! Please email Gabby DeBaie, Volunteer Coordinator, at gdebaie@gmail.com for more information or to sign up.  A big thanks to all that are helping out with this valuable program!!!
