This exhibition features work created by student's at Banff Elementary School during the Nature Explores Program and other works from participants of the Town of Banff’s Seven Days of Art program. The Nature Explorers Program supports classroom teachers with outdoor, experiential, place based, curriculum enhancing field trips for kindergarten to grade 6 once a month at the Banff Elementary School. This spring, the program combined with Visual Arts at The Banff Centre to introduce students to contemporary art practices, learning how to combine artistic process with social issues and personal experience to tell stories through artwork. This partnership aimed to provide students with experiential learning in both the sciences and arts while developing students’ sense of agency and discursive abilities about environmental issues and citizenship.

Banff Elementary School Council is holding the annual School Carnival on Thursday, May 21, 2015. This important annual event provides funding for program enhancements beyond the regular curriculum, such as the school’s Nature Explorers program, Outdoor Pursuits activities (swimming, skiing, skating, climbing, snowshoeing), and music program (Music Monday, Community Christmas Concert). RFTS is asking you to please donate your gently-used stuffies. They will be used as prizes. Your stuffies will get a new life with a welcoming family. Bring your stuffies to BES and put them in the collection box at the front office or in the RFTS office.
