PowerSchool - Parent Portal
PowerSchool is a student information system. Powerschool - Parent Portal has many online features for parents to access their own child(ren)'s demographic information, attendance, report cards, school fee invoice/payment. A link to the PowerSchool - Parent Portal can be found on the BES website. Kindergarten parents can pick up a letter with login instructions from their homeroom teacher - Ms. Cavanaugh or Ms. Bowes. Other new parents or parents who have not picked up their letter from last year, may pick it up from the office. Please click here for more details and a short video.
School fees invoices will be sent home with your child this week. Upon receipt of the school fees invoice payment can be made by cash or cheque (made out to Banff Elementary School) at the school office or if you wish to pay by debit or credit card, please login to Powerschool - Parent Portal - a link can be found on the BES website. School fees are $253.00 in total with the lunchtime supervision program fee included (the supervision portion is tax deductible). Breakdown of the fees will be shown on the invoice.
To ensure a safe and caring school environment, Banff Elementary School has implemented an “Attendance Line” to assist in tracking students’ attendance. Parents are asked to use this process when notifying our school about an attendance issue for your child(ren). By using this system, we can enhance our office procedures relating to attendance. It is a very simple procedure that is outlined below:
1. Dial 403-762-4465 and you will be connected to the school’s Voice Mail system.
2. When you hear the main greeting, press ‘1’ which is our school’s “Attendance Line” extension.
3. Follow the online prompt. The information that our school typically would like to acquire is:
Name of Parent
Name of Student
Grade of Student
Dates of Absence
Reason for Absence
Example: “Hello. This is John Doe. My son William, Grade 4A, will be absent Monday, September 16 because of illness.”
4. After leaving your message you may hang up.
A reminder that the order due date for the lunch program is tomorrow (Friday, September 16th). Please click here for more information on the Lunch Program. This is a volunteer run program and volunteers are required. Please contact our volunteer coordinator, Kelsie Lambert, at email@example.com. Also remember to send a container and utensils on lunch days. These will not be provided.

For your Child’s Safety
1. Children are asked to always cross at crosswalks when making their way to/from school and to walk their bikes and scooters across crosswalks.
2. Scooters - we are asking students to please store their scooters in their lockers (for those that fold) or outside at the bike racks. We are required to keep the boot rooms clear for fire safety.
3. The office doors are open from 8-4. Please remind your child(ren) if they are arriving after the bell and the door they usually enter through is locked, to come through the office doors.
4. Please avoid picking up or dropping off your child on Big Horn Street. Parking has now been restricted on this street.
