Spotlight on Learning
We all have a role to play in reconciliation, and it is critical students understand the histories and vibrant cultures of First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities in our province.  Alberta Education has recently developed a series of cross-curricular lesson plans for Grades 1 to 9 as one step to addressing reconciliation within Alberta’s current programs of study.  A meaningful day of learning about culture and inclusivity was designed by the Grade 4 teachers from BES and Exshaw, in collaboration with Lynx (Nature Explorers).  Students spent the day together outside at the Recreation Grounds playing games such as ‘What is your culture?’ and learning from each other.
