Did you know?
The School Act, Section 13, directs compulsory education for students aged 6 to 16. School Divisions are responsible for ensuring policies and procedures regarding student attendance. In CRPS, student attendance is reviewed on a monthly basis for all students per the Administrative Procedure 331 on Student Truancy. At BES, we collate our attendance records at report card periods and ensure that we are in line with Provincial and Division mandates.
Alignment to the policies and procedures means that if student attendance is an issue, parents will receive a letter indicating the policies, procedure and the number of days your child was absent. The letter is a reminder of the mandates we must follow at the same time offer support if needed. Our staff are committed to providing your child with every opportunity to reach their educational potential.  We know that consistent and prompt arrival at school each day is crucial to student success and if families need support, there are many resources available to access.

Please see the school web-site at www.banffelementary.ca for additional information, updated calender, stories and student work! Emails are also archived on the front page under Email Updates.
