Do you have nature deficit disorder?
“Imagine a world in which all children grow up with a deep understanding of the life around them…where children experience the joy of being in nature, before the learn of its loss…”
More and more studies are providing evidence that spending time in nature is vital to our well being. Spending time in nature has been linked to better health, clearer thinking, more effective learning – and more fun! At BES we’ve designed a range of activities to encourage our children to learn about and learn in our amazing outside environment.
Many of these activities are founded upon ideas from Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods andThe Nature Principle. Mr. Louv will be speaking in Canmore at the Radisson Hotel, Friday April 26, 8:30am – 10:00am. Tickets are available at Cafe Books and Communitea in Canmore, and the WildFlour in Banff.
