Alberta Education is conducting the annual Accountability Pillar survey. Click here for more information.
Parents of students in Grade 4, 7 and 10 should have received this survey by mail last month. Your participation in the survey helps provide important information on the quality of education your child is receiving, so we encourage you to return your survey by February 26th. Results are used by schools, school authorities and government to see what’s working and what needs to be improved. All surveys are anonymous and ask questions about experiences with the school. In addition to English and French, the parent survey is available in Tagalog, Chinese, Punjabi, Arabic, Blackfoot, Cree, Korean, Spanish and Urdu. Please contact the school office if you require a copy of the survey in one of these languages.
Report Cards available on Parent Portal
A printed copy of Report Cards for the first semester was sent home on January 29th. Reports Cards are also available on Parent Portal. The link to log on to POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL can be found on our BES website home page under QUICKLINKS - http://bes.crps.ca/. Please note, future Report Cards will be available on Parent Portal only, along with other items such as School Fee invoices and receipts. Walk to School Weekdays
Banff Elementary students are walking to the Grand Canyon! Not literally of course, but starting this week, we are promoting active transportation - having students walk, bike or scooter to school. Classes will be tracked with the help of some Grade 6’s and collectively will be charted on a map that is up in the school. We realize that due to various circumstances, some students have to take the bus or sometimes get a drive. If this is the case, we’re encouraging students to walk or run two laps of the field when they get dropped off, which will count towards having “walked” to school. Research has shown numerous benefits - physically, emotionally, mentally and academically, when students are outside and active before the school day starts. We are fortunate to live in a safe and walkable community. If you’re able to support your children in this initiative, it would be appreciated.
