New School Building Update
We have been given the green light from Alberta Infrastructure to progress with Phase 1 of the project of our new school. Throughout the many processes, communications and consultations to date, it has been widely reported (including a Rocky Mountain Outlook article) that we will need to plan and accommodate for the eventual placement of Grade 7 and 8 students at BES.
At this current time and recent information, and with an anticipated opening of the new school in September 2017, the current Grade 5s will be able to remain at BES and become an integral part of opening a new school. They will therefore be able to attend BES until June 2019 at which point they will transition to BCHS for Grade 9, Sept 2019.
All of us here at BES would like to invite you to our Earth Day 2016 Celebration Assembly on Friday, April 22nd at 10:30am. We have been working hard to show how much we care about the Earth. This year we are pleased to present to you:
An Earth Day skit - brought to you by the Soul Warmers
Artwork from each class - demonstrating our learning
An iMovie featuring the entire school entitled "CUBS Care About the Earth"
An original song "CUBS Care"
Pledges from each class
And a final Song that will truly touch your heart
We hope that you can find time in your busy schedules to join us in the BES gym on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd beginning at 10:30 (please come at 10:20) until 11:30. This is a community event and friends and family are welcome to join!
Lunch Hour Safety
Parental permission must be provided in writing to the teacher for students going home for lunch or out for lunch. The same written note must be shown at the office at the time the student is signing out. Students MUST sign out every time they leave and sign back in if during instruction time. If the student returns during the lunch hour, the afternoon attendance will indicate they are safely back at school. Please see our Family Handbook for more information.
Can we reach you in an emergency?
Does the school office have your up-to-date phone numbers (cell, home and work)? Please keep the school informed whenever your contact information has changed by calling 403-762-4465 or email email@example.com. There have been several incidents recently where we were unable to reach parents. Accurate, up-to-date information helps us work together to keep your children safe.
BES CUBS T-Shirts and Toques For Sale
CUBS T-Shirts and Toques are on sale for $15 each at the office while supplies last (cash or cheque to BES School Council). Sales from the T-Shirts and Toques will support School Council initiatives.
