Bullying Awareness, Caribou Kids Ski Passes, Family Lunch, Nut Aware : November 9, 2016

Our Remembrance Day ceremony was an opportunity for students to participate and reflect on its meaning. Thank you to the dignitaries, cadets and parents who were able to attend.  The songs, poems and reflections shared by students were very touching.

Bullying Awareness Week/International Kindness Day
Stand Up to Bullying is the theme for this year’s Bullying Awareness Week.  Did you know a bully will stop his or her behaviour in less than 10 seconds when a peer speaks up?  In addition to classroom learning activities, some activities planned for the week include a Take 5 with Your Child on Nov. 16, decorating the school buses with anti-bullying messages on Monday, and Spirit Council will compile and announce “Did you know?” facts during the week. Please click here for more information.

Nut Aware
BES is a NUT AWARE school and we do everything we can to mitigate exposure to most common allergens, especially nuts, although we are unable to guarantee an allergen-free environment. We would like to ask parents to refrain from sending nuts and items made with nuts to school. We have a number of children that have a life-threatening allergy to both ground nuts (peanuts) and tree nuts (including Pine nuts). Your support in ensuring that ALL students at BES are safe and free of preventable health issues is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact the school for further questions.

Picture Retake Proofs
Portrait proofs from the picture retake day have been sent home.  Please follow the instructions included in the package to order online or send your order back to your child’s homeroom teacher by November 16th.
