This week’s highlight is the music!  Congratulations to the BES choir for their wonderful performance this past weekend at A Charlie Brown Christmas at the Banff Centre. Below: Jerry Granelli stopped in backstage to visit with the students and tell them “Have fun!”.  Grade 2 students are performing Three Billy Goats Gruff for Kindergarten.

Santa’s Anonymous
Santas Anonymous Logo.jpg

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. In the spirit of giving BES would like to support the Santa’s Anonymous Christmas Hamper drive. This year Santa’s Anonymous has identified the need for toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. You can simply purchase an item and bring it unwrapped to the school office before December 15th and place it under our tree. We have received donated backpacks and we will fill them with the donated items.  Let’s help make sure everyone has a lovely Christmas and remember that the biggest gift you can give someone is your love and time.  For other ways to help Santa’s Anonymous, please click here.

Soulwarmers Christmas Sale
Come on out for the Soulwarmers Christmas Sale on December 8, 2016 from 8:15-8:30am. Parents and children welcome. Items for sale have been handcrafted by the Grade 3/4 Soulwarmers and will be sold between $1.00 - $5.00.  All proceeds will go to the Bow Valley SPCA.
*We will also have a schoolwide Take 5 tea, coffee and goodies to share with all! We hope to see you there.

BES CUBS T-Shirts & Toques

Are you looking for a stocking stuffer?  CUBS T-Shirts and toques are available at the school office for $15 each (cash or cheque to BES School Council). Sales from the T-Shirts and Toques support School Council initiatives.

Banff Commonwealth Walkways and Canada 150 project
BES students and their families are invited to be part of the Banff Commonwealth Walkways and Canada 150 project, organized by the Banff Canmore Community Foundation in honour of the 90th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and 150 years of Confederation of Canada.  The goals of the project are:

  • go outside
  • go for a walk to a special place of your choice
  • write about what makes your place special in 100 words or less
  • share your story

You may write your own story, a family story, or a story with a partner or friend. Join our community and the Commonwealth of Nations to be part of this special event. Please click here for more information.
Tell your friends, and your family, from near and from away about this project. We hope you will share a story, no matter who you are!

Family Lunch
It was great to see so many BES Families at the Family Lunch! An incredible $1320.00 was raised for the Food For Learning Program. Thank you for your support! Also a big thank you to Hostelling International - Banff Alpine Centre for sponsoring this fun and meaningful event!

Call for Lego and other building materials!
If you have any Lego, K’nex, etc. not being used, or know where we might find some, please let us know.  We would like to offer noon hour clubs focussed on creating with building materials.
