School Council AGM, Fundraiser, Before School Care : May 11, 2017

Spotlight on Learning
A Provincial Achievement Test in the morning and mock Town Council in the afternoon! Our Grade 6 students had an opportunity this afternoon to demonstrate their understanding of democracy and the roles and responsibilities of citizens (Gr. 6 social studies curriculum). Mayor Sorensen played the Mayor, and students, along with Mr. Sudermann, Mr. Moffatt and Mr. Quenneville, acted as Councillors. Students pitched 13 proposals to the “Town Council” of how best to spend a $6,000 grant from Mt. Norquay (and possibility other related community partners), to improve our community.  Stay tuned for our final decision!
