Lunch Program Volunteering, School Fees, Grand Opening : September 15, 2017

Spotlight on Learning
The Grade 7 Leadership Course at Canadian Rockies Outdoor Centre was a wonderful experience for our new Division 3 students to learn, live and grow together. 42 students joined six staff for a two day field trip to Bow Valley Provincial Park and learned how to provide First Aid for injuries that occur outdoors, how to be mindful and learn more about one’s own qualities, how to collaborate as a team in order to get a task completed efficiently and how to restore vegetation after trail building disturbs its growth. The highlights were the morning run with Ms Thomson, watching the sun set, the hike up to Grassi Lakes and of course ...the group chores!

Youth Drop In
The Town of Banff, in partnership with the Banff Canmore Community Foundation, is starting a youth drop in this school year for grade 7-10’s. The Community Foundation has renovated the basement space and we are wanting to open it up to students on Monday – Thursdays from 3-6:30 pm. They can come to do homework, hang out with friends, do art projects, play games, etc. There will be a Town of Banff youth worker supervising every day to help support the program. We are having an open house on Monday, September 18th for the grade 7’s only from 3:05-4:30 pm. Colin (Griz) will meet any students interested in checking out the space at BES and then walk over with them. This is a drop in program at no cost, so they can use it whenever they want! But if you can help encourage your child to come check out the basement to help give us feedback on Monday, that would be great! If you have any questions about this new drop in, please contact Colin at
