Spotlight on Learning
BES and BCHS are pleased to welcome Mr. Mike Shoemaker as acting assistant principal.  He will also be working with Ms. Gadon providing ELL support.  Ms. Miles is currently acting principal at BCHS and Mr. Greene has been seconded to central office.  Mr. Shoemaker comes to us from Canmore Collegiate High School, where he was the Learning Support teacher and a Lead Learner.  He has a Masters in Learning and is passionate about helping all students learn.  Mr. Shoemaker is also a husband and father of Abigail in grade one.

No Kindergarten Classes

First Bell at 8:25 am
Teachers are finding getting started in the mornings challenging due to the number of students arriving after 8:30am.  The first bell rings at 8:25am, giving students 5 minutes to come in, organize their belongings and be ready to learn at 8:30am.  If your child is one of the many that are arriving after 8:30, please assist them in setting a routine that allows them to arrive by 8:25am.

School Council Meeting
October 18 3:30-4:30 in the staff room (come through the office).  Everyone is welcome!

School Board Meeting
Please follow the link to the Public School Board Meeting Agenda being held Thursday, October 19.  The meeting will be held at the CRPS Central Board Office in Canmore at 7:00 p.m.

School Fees
A reminder that school fees are due on October 31st.  A statement of your account is available on Parent Portal.  Payment can be made by cash or cheque at the school office or you can log on to Parent Portal to pay by credit or debit card.

Booking Dates:
ctober 20th at 1:00 pm until November 1st at 12:00 pm  
After November 1st at 12:00 pm the on-line booking system will be closed - parents will be required to email their child's homeroom teacher directly to change or book an appointment after that time (please click here for staff directory).

Healthy & Safe Community Month (October)
We are focussing on many aspects of Comprehensive School Health and Safety in which every student will be involved. Students will practice safety expectations and be taught through various learning activities by guest speakers from our community.  The Banff Fire Department is hosting an open house and pancake breakfast at the Fire Hall to recognize Fire Prevention Week on Saturday, October 14th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm - please click here for more details.

BES CUBS T-Shirts For Sale
CUBS T-Shirts and toques are on sale for $15 at the office (cash or cheque to BES School Council).  Sales from the T-Shirts and Toques will support School Council initiatives.

RFTS supports mental health in schools, with families, and within the community. Wellness Mentors and Success Coaches are in Banff Elementary School. Our doors are always open.
