Spotlight on Learning

Grade 4 students thinking like engineers!  Students identified ways to reuse cardboard to create fun and innovative arcade games for all BES students to enjoy. This task incorporated six learner outcomes from the Gr. 4 science curriculum and had to meet a number of criteria including ‘Does it work every time?’.  Wonderful examples of imagination and collaboration!

Thank you to Grade 6s for hosting a mock election on Monday.  Students researched and presented short audio clips during announcements to introduce each candidate to the student body.

Exciting News!  Phase 2 has been approved.  The tender process is three weeks.  Construction is expected to begin the third week of November. Staff and students are preparing for the restricted playground space.  Although we are expecting construction noise, especially at the beginning when siding is being removed and they are breaking concrete, the construction company will do their best to be strategic about their timing.

We have boxes in the front foyer that say "We SCARE hunger" to place your food items in. Spirit council has set a goal this year to collect 200 food items by Halloween. Please help us out and send a non perishable food item to school with your child. Together we can make a difference.

If your child missed the original picture day they can have their picture taken on retake day.
