Spotlight on Learning

Gr. 8 Band Trip (March 12-14) - Our Gr. 8 students are back from Edmonton and the verdict is in….the experience was a huge success!  Students worked hard to learn as much as possible from the clinics at the University of Alberta. Mr. N. reports it was simply a joy to spend these three days with our Gr. 8 students. He was impressed by their effort and teamwork throughout the band tour. He is already looking forward to next year!

Camera Club - Invitation for a Family Portrait
Our Camera Club students would like to invite you to our first annual Family Portrait fundraiser. The event will take place during our Parent/Student/Teacher conferences this month in the Learning Commons. This fundraiser will allow us to purchase more gear to enrich our program. There is no set fee, by donation only. No bookings needed, just drop in with your family!

School Council Meeting
Come one, come all! Child care will be provided. We are meeting Wednesday, March 20 at 3:30 pm in the staff room. Parents play an important role in student success. School councils allow parents to participate in decisions that impact student learning. By contributing knowledge, perspective and ideas at school council meetings, parents are actively contributing to the success of our school community.

CRPS Board Meeting
Please follow the link to view the agenda for the upcoming Public School Board Meeting scheduled for March 19, 2019. The meeting will take place at Exshaw School at 7:00 pm.

Literacy Week
Literacy week is fast approaching (March 25 - 29) and the grade 3's wanted to show our school spirit by hosting a book sale! Please bring in any used book donations this coming week and leave next to any of the grade 3 classrooms (Mrs. Daffern 106, Ms. Reid 401 or Ms. Provencher 108). We will be hosting the book sale Thursday March 28 in the Learning Lounge all morning. Classes will have time to come down and look through the book selection. Picture books will be $0.25 and novels $0.50. All of the proceeds will go toward the Bow Valley SPCA. Thank you for your support and happy reading!

Casual Lunch Supervisors Needed
Are you available on a casual basis to supervise students over the lunch hour? We are in need of subs to call in the event that we are short staffed. This is paid position and you are required to obtain an RCMP Vulnerable Sector check (unless we already have one on file). Please contact the office for more information.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found items have been set out on display in the Learning Commons (the open area by the Grades 1 & 4 classrooms in the new school). Please stop by or have your child take a look as there are MANY items that you may not even realize have been missing!
