Spotlight on Learning

Grade three students were demonstrating their understanding of structures through designing and and building bridges that spanned at least 45 cm and could support a mass of 5 kg (10 lbs) or more. Some of them could hold more than 38 kgs (85lbs)!

Valbella Gourmet Foods Fundraiser
What are we fundraising for? PLAYGROUNDS!
Fact 1. New schools DO NOT include new playgrounds.
Fact 2. Playgrounds cost about $200,000 each
Fact 3. BES is hoping to build two awesome new playgrounds – one geared towards K-5, and the other designed for Grades 4-8.
Fact 4. Through generous community donors we have raised $100,000 and the Alberta Government is funding $250,000. We need $75,000 more…

Order forms have been sent home and are due back to the school office along with payment (cash or cheques made payable to BES School Council) on May 3. Product pick up by each seller is scheduled for May 14 at BES - in time for BBQ season!
