BES students were stars on the stage Thursday afternoon! Each class worked with an artist from Quest Theatre developing their drama skills throughout the week. We saw increased confidence in every student as they presented their interpretation of a cultural story.

Phase 2 Update - Confirmed School Closure for students May 21
Good news!  The move to phase 2 will be occurring over the long weekend. School will be closed for students on Tuesday, May 21 to allow staff to set up classrooms. Students are to meet their teachers on Wednesday morning, May 22 in their old classrooms. Those classes that are moving rooms will be led to their new rooms by their teacher.

*Please note Kindergarten classes will head out on their field trip as planned. They will move to their new classes after lunch recess.

Gr. 4 - both classes are moving to the second floor (same wing), across from Gr. 6
Gr. 7 & 8 - are moving to the second floor in the new wing (look for the lockers!)
Gr. 3R (Ms. Reid’s class) - is moving room 104 (across from Gr. 1, formerly Ms. Thomson’s Gr. 4 room)
Gr. 2 & Kindergarten - are moving to the main floor in the new wing
Music room - is moving to the main floor in the new wing

More information about class locations and the doors students will use to exit the school at 3:05 will be sent out next week.

The Town of Banff is providing childcare Tuesday, May 21. They are currently accepting registration. Please contact 403-762-1251 to register your child(ren).

The Lunch Program (Subway) will be moved to Wednesday, May 22. Arrangements will be made to deliver lunch to the Gr. 5 class on Nature Explorers.

For those students participating in WordSmash or Track & Field on Tuesday, May 21, these events will not be affected by the school closure.

CRPS is inviting the public Thursday, May 23 & Friday, May 24 to remove any items in the old building that can be repurposed.

Please help us in our planning for next year by informing the office if your child is NOT attending Banff Elementary School for the 2019-20 school year.

HomeStay needed for International Students
Students come to CRPS from Brazil, Spain, Italy, France, Japan, Vietnam, Mexico, Hong Kong and Germany. They stay for one semester, two semesters or for longer in order to earn their high school diploma while gaining fluency in English. For host families, remuneration for the 2019-20 school year is $975.00 per month. Homestay families must have a separate, furnished bedroom for their student, and provide three generous, nutritious meals a day plus reasonable snacks and beverages.

CRPS Public Board Meeting

Technology & Today’s Youth
CRPS is pleased to have Dr. Andrea Halwas Larsen from Juno House Associate to come and provide a presentation on technology and today's youth at CCHS on May 27, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Please click here for more details. Here is a quote from what to expect during the evening:

The message of this presentation is not only based on technology, but also about a child’s healthy brain development and the necessary parenting/caregiver role in creating healthy, emotional, regulated, and integrated brains."
