Spotlight on Learning
On Wednesday we had our annual Bike Rodeo for our grade 2 and 3 students. Bike Rodeo is a true community event that succeeds because it is a Banff team effort.  At the Bike Rodeo, students learn and practice streetwise bike safety skills. The day was a huge success thanks to all our Banff community volunteers and supporting organizations. Students were given presentations on appropriate safety equipment, how to navigate while riding a bike and techniques for safe riding. At Banff Elementary School we encourage our students to use the skills daily as they ride to and from school. A big thanks all our individual volunteers and to the following organizations: Snowtips Bactrax, The Town of Banff - Community Services, Bylaw, and the RCMP.

Bikes/Scooters/Skateboards at School
Now that spring weather has arrived in Banff, more students are riding bikes, scootering and skateboarding to school. We ask that riders be considerate of pedestrians by walking bikes, scooters and skateboards on busy sidewalks, especially in front of the school. The Bike Rodeo also serves as an important reminder that students practice road safety and wear appropriate safety gear when riding to school.
