October 4 2019: Away for the Day - Parent Edition, Helmets, School Fees, Important Dates

Spotlight on Learning
Numeracy instruction is an important part of every student’s day at BES. Grade 1 students have been focussing on counting and comparing sets, and sorting objects, using one attribute.  Students are expected to explain the sorting rule. Students have had a real world example of sorting - they quickly connected their learning to the piles of materials awaiting recycling from the old school! Quote from  a grade one student: “Construction workers were sorting the materials. It was easier to clean up and recycle.”
Note: Construction workers have been sorting the materials from the old school, much of it by hand, hence the slow and steady demolition.

Professional Development Day

Monday, October 14, 2019 - School Closure

Away for the Day - Parent Edition!
We are very pleased parents are enjoying the front lobby space while they wait for their child.  We encourage you to please engage in conversation with each other and refrain from spending your time on your phones. Please help set a good example for our students and limit your time on your phone!

We are concerned with the number of students who are arriving on scooters, skateboards and bikes with no helmets. Students are expected to wear helmets to protect their brains. Please ensure your child is wearing a helmet.
