November 15 2019: Family Breakfast at BES, Vaping Information Session, Doors &Sidewalks, Student Pick-Up/Drop-Off, School Council Meeting

Spotlight on Learning
Our Gr. 8 students are visiting all classrooms in our school and sharing lessons on how to build positive relationships through anti-bullying presentations. Gr. 8 student leaders planned grade appropriate lessons for every class in the school. These lessons teach important vocabulary and tools to prevent bullying. The grade 8 presenters shared the information in a professional and organized fashion. Great job grade 8.

Family Breakfast at BES -  Sponsored by HI-Banff Alpine Centre
Before the busy holiday season is upon us, we would like to invite families to mingle with BES staff over breakfast on Wednesday, November 27 from 8:00 - 8:25 am. HI-Banff Alpine Centre is generously donating and serving muffins, fruit and yogurt. To ensure there is enough food we do require you to sign up before November 20 by clicking here. Please bring a bowl, plate, spoon and mug to help us reduce waste. If you are unable to attend but would like your child(ren) to participate, please ensure to sign them up. Unfortunately, we will only be able to serve those that have signed up. All family members are welcome to join us for this celebration of our school community.

Vaping Information Session and Conversation
On November 28 from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at BES the Town of Banff is hosting a Vaping Information Session and Conversation for parents and caregivers of school-aged children/youth as well as for students. If you require childcare, please register by November 21 by calling 403-762-1251 or emailing

South-West Doors and Sidewalk
The final section of the heated sidewalks is now in place! We are now able to access the SW doors. Students can go to the door closest to their classroom and boot rack via the sidewalk around the school - even from the bus!

Student Pick-Up/Drop-Off During School Hours
When dropping off or picking up your child during class time, please check in with the office first and sign your child in or out. For security, if picking up or dropping off during recess, parents are asked to come to the office first, rather than accessing the school field through the gates. Your child can then be signed in or called to the office.

Squirrel Street Closure
We need your help! We are specifically looking for someone to assist with the barricades at 11:40 am on half day Fridays and 2:45 pm on full day Fridays. Please let the office know if you are able to help. **If you are going by and see the barricades should be out (8:00 am or 2:45 pm) or should be put away by the fence (8:30 or 3:15 ish), please feel comfortable moving them as needed. This would be greatly appreciated!!
