Spotlight on Learning
Language learning is valued by our Banff community. Each week, Mme Skwara provides extension activities for students to practice their French skills. This week, Gr. 6 students designed a French town, complete with a labelled map featuring community places, three types of transportation, and directions for navigating the town! Mme Trottier and Ms. Keon (who both speak English and French) will continue to foster the love of language learning next year.
P.S. I have thoroughly enjoyed the work students are so proud of, that they shared it with me! Those are by far my favourite emails!
School Council Hot Lunch Credits/Refunds
School Council held their AGM and regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 20. Credits will be given for all lunch orders after March 13 and will be applied to next year’s lunch orders. Refunds will be provided to grade 8 students (soon to be Gr. 9!), unless they have a younger sibling that could use the credit next year. Grade 8 parents, please keep an eye out for an email from our dedicated Hot Lunch Coordinator, Susan Hughes, in regards to this matter.
Student Materials Pick-up
If your child still has belongings at the school, you are most welcome to stop by to pick them up during regular school hours (8:00-12 & 1:00-3:30). Please send an email to email@example.com with the day you are stopping by, and the materials will be placed on the table out front for pick up.
Library Book Returns
The countdown is on! We have 171 library books to go. Ask your child’s teacher for the title if you are unsure. Returning a book? Please place in the blue bin out front of the school during regular school hours (8:00-3:30).

(this will be shared through our Facebook page next week)
School and Family Wellness Worker
During these uncertain times it can be helpful for students and families to have someone they can connect with to talk about their fears and emotions. Please know that you can access Ms. Van Impe via phone and email. She is available too through google hangouts to meet face to face with you or your children. Reach out; together we can support each other with effective new ways to address social emotional supports.
