June 5, 2020 Update

Spotlight on Learning
June is an interesting time for teachers.  In addition to writing report cards, they continue to design worthwhile work that entices students to stay engaged and continue to learn, right to the last day of school.  Thank you for all your efforts to help your child stay engaged during these last few weeks. Here are a few examples from this week:

Grade 3 did Chalk Art Math: This math task drew in the whole family and encouraged some great discussions about the kind of math they could see.

Grade 6: Are developing their scientific investigation theories and skills through a search for Ms. Major's missing dog!

Grade 8: It is comforting to know there is good news out there too!  Gr. 8 students researched and wrote “Some Good News” stories for language arts.  We all need some good news!

Tune in next week for Favourite BES Memories!

Library Book Returns

School and Family Wellness Worker
During these uncertain times it can be helpful for students and families to have someone they can connect with to talk about their fears and emotions. Please know that you can access Ms. Van Impe via phone and email. She is available too through google hangouts to meet face to face with you or your children. Reach out; together we can support each other with effective new ways to address social emotional supports.
