June 25, 2020 Final Message from Principal McKibbin

A heartfelt thank you to each of you for all you have done this year to support teachers and your children, especially over the last three months.  You’ve done an exceptional job!  Anyone keen to start a new career as a teacher?

It has been a tearful week as my time at BES comes too quickly to a close.  We began the year with the Grand Opening of BES, and finished the year as a virtual school in the midst of a pandemic.  Each of my five years at BES has brought exciting changes: the building of a new school, the deconstruction of the old, two new playgrounds, and two fields (not to mention six floods and one leaking roof!).  During that time, the culture of collaboration, kindness, and what is best for children has never waivered for staff or parents at BES.  I will cherish the kind words, hugs and pride children showed when they shared their work with me.  Some of my best memories are teaching French Experience with Mrs. G., connecting with parents at the end of the day, assemblies (especially Halloween!), notes from students, and students sharing their work with me.

Thank you for your kindness and support. I know you are in excellent hands with Mme Trottier and Ms. Keon, but I am so sad to be saying good-bye to the wonderful families of BES.  It has been an honour to serve your children as principal.
