August 28, 2020 BES Hello Video, Back to School Information, At-Home Learning

BES Hello Video
The staff at BES are extremely pleased to welcome back students this fall! As we are unable to invite parents into our school at this time (without an appointment), BES staff have put together a welcome video for you to enjoy at home.

Back to School Information Grades 1 - 8

We look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 31 or Tuesday, September 1. In order for teachers and staff to have time with their classes to support the establishment of new safety routines we will begin the year with a staggered start for homerooms. Half of each cohort/class will attend on August 31 and the other half will attend on September 1.

If your student’s last name begins with A through L they will attend on Monday, August 31 and will not attend school on Tuesday.
If your student’s last name begins with M through Z they will attend on Tuesday, September 1 and will not attend school on Monday.

The entire class will then be together on Wednesday, September 2.

Please click here for the detailed BES Back to School and Re-Entry Plan information. Please note that revisions to the Re-Entry Plan are in blue. The CRPS Divisional Re-Entry Plan can be found here.

Kindergarten families, please refer to the emailed information sent home this week.

At-Home Learning
At-home learning will formally begin on September 8, 2020.

It is important to note that if a student is enrolled in at-home learning, they will not receive instruction from their designated in-school learning teacher. They will be assigned an at-home learning teacher who will be responsible for a specific group of students that have chosen at-home learning. Also, depending on the numbers and resources in both in-school learning and at-home learning for K to 8 students, it is highly unlikely that we will be able to accommodate transfers between the learning options during the first quarter (August 31 -November 6). This would cause significant staffing challenges, as well as a disruption in learning for students who would be required to transition to a new teacher and to a new method of instruction.
