E-NEWS Spotlight on Learning

The Grade 5 ‘Mountain Musicians’ from BES love to arrange songs, from the instrumentation, choreographing dance and designing the performance set. Students chose their own sections within the performance based on their interests and even rewrote the chorus in the middle of the song as a shout-out to all the BES CUBS! 

As in the original Strumbella’s ‘Salvation’ music video, students had one music class to create a dance routine to this song. Please click this link to see what they came up with BES CBC Music Class Challenge 2021 Entry.

Purdys Chocolate Orders - FINAL pickup date Monday December 6 3:00 - 3:30 pm

Thank you to all those that were able to support the School Council Purdys Chocolate fundraiser. We raised over $1400! The final pick up date is on Monday December 6 from 3:00 - 3:30 pm. Please be mindful of the parking restrictions on Squirrel Street.

Grade 6 Student-led Fundraiser

We have a group of Grade 6 students organizing a fundraiser for those affected by the floods in BC. Students are invited to bring donations next week, such as used books and used toys, to school and drop them in the bin at the front entrance. The sale will take place for students on December 14th on a rotating schedule. If you think your child would like to purchase some items, please send money with them on that day.  We will also have some crafts such as bracelets and origamis. The money raised will be tripled by the Federal Government and the provincial Government. Thank you in advance for supporting this fundraiser! 


COVID Information

We continue to follow the directives outlined by Alberta Health Services on isolation and quarantine requirements. Please ensure to complete the updated COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist. A reminder to families as per our CRPS reentry plan - “​If a student presents with COVID-19 symptoms during the school day, as per the Alberta Health Daily Checklist and as determined by school staff, parents must be contacted immediately to pick up their child.” As the holidays approach please ensure you are aware of the COVID-19: Travel, testing and borders information.

The amount of lost & found items is growing and growing. Please ask your child to check out the lost & found tables. All items remaining at the Winter Break will be donated.


Caribou Kids Season Ski Pass at Banff Mount Norquay

Yes! Banff school students will enjoy free (almost) skiing again this winter!!! In its 15th year, Banff Lodging Co and Banff Mount Norquay remain committed to offering the Caribou Kids Season Ski Pass program for students enrolled at Banff schools, even as we hope to rebound from recent challenging economic conditions. Town of Banff Children & Youth Programs

Banff Elementary School fees are available on PowerSchool Parent Portal and are now due. Debit or credit card payments can be made online through your Parent Portal. If you are unable to make full payment at this time please contact Joanne Geyer at joanne.geyer@crps.ca to make payment arrangements.
