E-NEWS Spotlight on Learning

Grade 3 students are learning all about Peru as part of their Social Studies curriculum and have created these beautiful alpacas.

Guess who these Grade 1 students are? They have been working really hard on their writing skills for their little autobiographies!

We are so thrilled to have reading buddies again at BES. Our Grade 2/3 class and Kindergarten students have been working together on their literacy skills.

As part of their Grade 3 Science unit on bridges, students learned about bridges in Banff from an engineer: Students were able to see how the pedestrian bridge was built, ask the engineer questions, and view the new pedestrian bridge being installed! Students then directly applied their learning and created their own bridges.

Lost and Found
The number of items in our Lost & Found has been growing again. Please ask your child to check out the lost & found tables or feel free to come by and check for lost items.

2022-2023 School Year
Children already attending Banff Elementary School do not need to complete a new registration, even if your child is in Grade 8 and going to Banff Community High School or Canmore Collegiate High School next school year. Volunteering
Banff Elementary School loves and greatly appreciates our volunteers! We require all volunteers who help in the school or on field trips to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check through the RCMP and sign a Confidentiality Contract as per Canadian Rockies Public Schools’ Administrative Procedure 490 - School Volunteers and FOIPP. Prior to volunteering, please email your legal name to the school office at bes.info@crps.ca to request an RCMP Fee Waiver Letter and we will email you back the letter, required forms and instructions. Often Vulnerable Sector Checks can be completed by the RCMP within 24 hours. Please click here for more information on volunteering opportunities.

School Fees Now Due
Banff Elementary School fees are available on PowerSchool Parent Portal and are now due. Debit or credit card payments can be made online through your Parent Portal. If you are unable to make full payment at this time or have any questions, please contact Joanne Geyer at joanne.geyer@crps.ca.
