Marching towards our goal and remembering our past!
BES honoured those who have contributed, with their efforts and even their lives, to the community and country we live in today. Today’s ceremony is also another wonderful step to reconnecting with community organizations like the Cadets and families, who were in attendance. Thanks to the Cadets for marching in and out to begin and end our ceremony! Special thanks to Ms. Sunderland and Ms. Gadon for organizing this incredible ceremony. Super special thanks to all of the students who contributed through their presenting, singing, dancing, emceeing and tech support. Banff Elementary School is truly the heart of our lovely community.

Please come join your child for lunch on Tuesday November 22 (Grades 4-8 12:00-12:25 pm; Grades K-3 12:25-12:50 pm). There is a choice of a turkey, ham or cheese sandwich with a gluten free option along with an apple, a cookie and a juice box. This is an optional lunch at no cost to families; however to ensure we have enough for everyone, please click here to complete the order form by Tuesday November 15. You can also indicate on this form if you do not wish to have your child(ren) participate in this event. All family members are welcome to join us for this meaningful event, but even if parents are unable to attend, you can still order a free lunch for your child(ren).

BES Apparel - Get Your Orders in Quick!
We are putting in an order for BES Hoodies and T-shirts featuring our awesome BES Bear Logo designed by Jason Carter. The turnaround time is very quick so that the items will arrive before Winter Break (gift ideas anyone?), so please click here to submit your orders and pay by November 16, 2022 so you don’t miss out! Payment can be made on PowerSchool Parent Portal the day after submitting your order or by cash or cheque at the school office.

School Council
School Council is a liaison group between parents/guardians, teachers, administration, community and School Board to encourage communication, involvement and cooperation with the goal of maximizing individual student learning and enhancing school life. As a parent or a guardian with a child in the school, you are considered a member of School Council. We welcome all parents to join our Council meetings to learn, observe, and have a voice. School Council generally meets the third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm. Whether you can join for one meeting, or every meeting, for 30 minutes or the full hour and a half, your involvement is welcome. The next meeting is Wednesday November 16 3:30 pm.

Banff Holiday Concert at the Banff Centre
The 2022 Banff Holiday Concert is back on after a 4 year hiatus to the brand new Jenny Belzberg Theatre at the Banff Centre! With seating limitations and a smaller organizing committee, the format of our show has changed slightly. Please click here for all the details from Mrs. G.

News from the Office

Volunteering
Banff Elementary School loves and greatly appreciates our volunteers! We require all volunteers who help in the school or on field trips to complete an annual Vulnerable Sector Check through the RCMP and sign a Confidentiality Contract as per Canadian Rockies Public Schools’ Administrative Procedure 490 - School Volunteers and FOIPP. Prior to volunteering, please email your legal name to the school office at bes.info@crps.ca to request an RCMP Fee Waiver Letter and we will email you back the letter, required forms and instructions. Often Vulnerable Sector Checks can be completed by the RCMP within 24 hours. Please click here for more information on volunteering opportunities.

School Fees are Due
Banff Elementary School fees are available on PowerSchool Parent Portal and are now due. As per Canadian Rockies School Division’s Administrative Procedure 503, payment for school fees is due 30 days after invoicing.
