Principal’s Post
As we move through spring and into summer, we would like to remind families of the importance of travelling safely to and from school. Students and families biking or scootering should all be wearing helmets, stopping and walking across all crosswalks and four way stops, and if travelling on E-bikes and electric scooters be extra cautious about your speed around the school area. Students travelling by car should be dropped off and picked up at the ‘Kiss and Go’ drop off zone on Big Horn Street to keep the bus zone clear and to keep the many students who are biking and walking safe. June is ‘Banff Bike Month’ - please check out the Town of Banff link here for more information about upcoming events!
Spotlight on Learning
Grade 5s have transformed a section of the library into a museum that showcases the many different and unique Indigenous dwellings and shelters from across Canada. In Grade 5 Social Studies, students learn the natural environment and geography of each region of Canada and the diversity of cultures and ways of life among Indigenous groups. Students choose a traditional dwelling or shelter and researched how the design and materials of these structures were influenced by the land and climate of each Indigenous group. The museum is open to students, staff and the school community and the Grade 5s will be giving tours over the course of the next few weeks!
Grade 7 & 8 Try-A-Trade Day
Our Grade 7 & 8 students had the chance to check out trades careers and learn new skills during Try-A-Trade Day last week.
