Farewell Message from Ms. Keon

Dear Families,
As of September 15, 2022, I will be taking on a new role as Principal at Exshaw School. We are grateful to have Jennifer Beecroft step into the role of Assistant Principal at Banff Elementary School. She brings a wealth of experience from her many years as a teacher and lead learner at Banff Elementary. You are in great hands with Mr. Kestle and Ms. Beecroft! I am so thankful for the wonderful experiences with students, families, staff and community throughout my time at BES. It has been a wonderful gift that I treasure immensely.
Jody Keon

School Council
School Council is a liaison group between parents/guardians, teachers, administration, community and School Board to encourage communication, involvement and cooperation with the goal of maximizing individual student learning and enhancing school life. As a parent or a guardian with a child in the school, you are considered a member of School Council. We welcome all parents to join our Council meetings to learn, observe, and have a voice. School Council generally meets the third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 pm. Whether you can join for one meeting, or every meeting, for 30 minutes or the full hour and a half, your involvement is welcome. The first meeting of this school year is on Wednesday September 21 at 3:30 pm at BES.

Terry Fox School Run 1:00 pm Friday September 23
In honour of Canadian hero Terry Fox, BES students will be participating in the Terry Fox School Run on Friday September 23. We encourage parents to volunteer by running or being a course marshal. Prior to volunteering, please email your legal name to the school office at to request an RCMP Fee Waiver Letter and we will email you back the letter, required forms and instructions. Often Vulnerable Sector Checks can be completed by the RCMP within 24 hours. Please click here for more information on volunteering opportunities.
